Happy Mother's Day

Tomorrow is officially "Mother Day" in Bangkok and the Queen's Birthday. We all woke up at 7AM and the Mercy community gathered to present the monks with gifts of food and drink. The children danced and the Monks chanted and we all sang "Sadudee Maharacha", the official song for the King and Queen. Once again I was invited to take part in the ceremony and once again police officers took pictures of me. At least this time Ben was also in attendance.

Kneeling in a crowd of sky blue (everyone wore the Queen's color) as the Monk's chants rolled over the masses I felt ever present in the moment. I.AM.IN.BANGKOK. These past few days I've been blissfully happy. It's not to say those moments of frustration don't come, but I feel so much a part of this community and this family. This morning was filled with hugs from the kids and the streets pulsed with positive energy. P'Galong guided traffic and the preschoolers performed their traditional Thai dance. Smiles abound.

To lift spirits even higher, today is a half day in the office and no work tomorrow! Laughter fills Mercy's headquarters and people slowly start to filter out. I'm headed to the Arts and Cultural Center, then Ben and I are meeting up with Oliver and Riannon from "Skateistan" tonight. This time we'll be checking off Kao San Road. Looks like the iPhone camera will have to suffice...

May and Ben in the shadows of Mercy 2. Which led to a new idea and new item on the bucket list. Huge white sheet, projector and outdoor movie night at Mercy 2.

Check Facebook for videos from last night. Notice Maew's outfit- she's rocking the Alex Ashley shorts and an Eric Weisberger collection tee.
